ugh i can't wait for drivign lessons to be over so i have enough time/light and energy to finish the painting... luckily it's all backgroudn stuff and glitter at this point...
oh right i'm supposed totalk about pichu.
so this was part of the requested sketchdump of pokemon where i did what people wants to see me do
some turned out decent... others derpy... what can you do it was fun in the end.
one of the ones i was most happy with was pichu so i figured may as well render him.
so i listened to a 55 min long podcast while i started....
and by the end of the podcast i was done...
yeah pokemon are fast to draw.
still this will probably be my last one for a while, i'm waiting on the next 12 descriptions of this project commission thing i'm working on and i'll be focusing more on original art again...
but yeah we'll see.... i need to find a way to balance things so i don't burn out cause 15 images is a lot or pressure and i wanna make sure every single one is the best i can make it.
so yeah... in the 55 mins i never took a screen shot... oops.... so heres the finished pichu
and of course the shiny colouring
anyways i hope you like it and i'm gunan get back to painting and dreading my final day of class

Leafeon - From Start to finish -
So i did a 'request sketch dump
again some i liked, something looked derpy... some turnedo ut betetr then i expected.
my one friend thougth leafeon was cute... i was kinda on the fence about it... i had used my sleepy kitty as a modle so yeah... sleepy leafeon.
after my second day of 'driving lessons' i was begginign to realize why so many terrible drivers are on the road... the standards are so low.
so to perk myself up i did the laziety coloutin of Leafeon possible
so theres the falt colour but due to the trasitions between the green and it's body i knew shading it would be tricky
so i went the cheap way and filled in all of Lefeon with a darker colour and erasedo utthe highlights... then i went in and added core shadows and whatnot.
so yeah... super lazy but pretty fun~
i've never been good at drawing the Eevee family... so all things considered i figure this is a sucess... in the end i had a ton of fun
um Shiny leafeon doens't look too different to me but here it is anyways,
ugh it feels like i just turned up the gamma.... but oh well it's still fun making these shiny versions. i hope you like it and i'm off to pick which series i will watch now... hm....

Mew -from start to finish-
so.... this was pretty quick...
first i finally am pretty much done all my commissions... the painting one needs a little more love but considering i'm under the impression it may be a while before i get paid for that one i'm in no rush... the second she can pay it'll be a quick finish.... but no stressing over it.
however i seem to suffer from commissioners guilt.... if someone has given me money or a deadline... even if it's not the full payment/project/whatever i will have a harder time doing personal stuff... cause i feel like i should be working on the other thing...
it's an odd mental block but i can beat it two (maybe three) ways.
Way 1:
Work on the thing creating the block in question for 30 mins or until i can't anymore (for watercolour it means until i have to wait for spots to dry)
Way 2:
Fanart, I mentioned recently i'm terrible at fanart... i'm not saying that to be modest... i'm saying it cause it's true... I don't tend to consider fan art as my own personal art so it tends to be a million times more lazy... where i may spend 15 mins on an OC sketch... i'll be lucky to spend more then 5 on fanart. however because i don't consider it my own personal art i don't tend to feel guilt when i do it instead of work...
stupid loophole yes but it works for me.
oh the third way is through studies and today was kinda a combination of everything.
I working on the background for this painting... it'll be ready for salting tomorrow as well as some finishing touches.
then i went to try to draw... found out i was still in no mood to do original characters so i figured i'd do some studies....
but first tumblr... cause i'm addicted to that site... and for some reason there was a lot of pokemon on my Dash...
now if i'm bad at fanart i'm TERRIBLE at fan art or animals...
so i tell myself screw that... i may be really bad at drawing pokemon but since i'm doing some studies anyways i will get a random generator and draw the pokemon it throws at me.
then i got like.... black version of that mashed up legendary and said "ok i'll do it randomly but only the cute ones..."
by the end of 10-15 mins i had...
i think the order was Chikorita > Azumarill > Minum > Oddish > 'Torchic'
and then cause torchic turned out so badly (not that Azumaril is much better....) i wanted to draw one of the... 4 pokemon i know i can draw well. so i drew Mew.
then cause... i wanted to work on something and still had no motivation to make personal things i figured... i'll ink Mew but have a heavy focus on line weight cause i've been getting lazy with line weight lately... i thought about doing atmospheric perspective but.... there wasn't much depth to the pose... so i figured that could be chikorita.
anyways so i ink it and that takes like... 15 minutes cause mew is so simple with not a lot of detail... the hardest part is getting the tail a consistent thickness.
so i got this~
for those wondering it is still Cs5.5 extended or whatever... i haven't upgraded yet cause i hear 6 is buggy as hell and right now this works for me.
anyways i wasn't gunna colour it... cause.... well i had no reason to....
but then i thought.... it wont take long... maybe an hour cause gotta get all those curves defined through shading....
so... 45 min later it was done.
i know i've been doing a lot of transparently backgrounds lately... i just felt adding a bg wouldn't have worked.
and yes... i had too much fun with it's eyes.... eyes are the most fun to colour.
i also went with movie colouring cause i like the soft pink as opposed to the pepto bismol colour Mew tends to be... just too pink... so yeah
i could easily make a shiny version.... maybe i should for fun...
tee hee hee okay that was too much fun... but i still like not shiny Mew better so i guess this will be a blogspot exclusive even though no one cares~
anyways it was really fun and so much faster then i expected... if i do anymore from that batch it'll probably be chikorita cause... it's the only other one i like.... isn't that always the way? the first one you draw is the nicest...
so yeah... i should go rest up cause it seems like everyone in my house it getting insanely ill.... yay stuff to look forward to : (
i'm just resigned to the fact that i will always suffer from a cold... it is my lot in life...
so anyways i hope you like this,
it's also a sticker!

First Impression: Pokemon Conquest
Aka: Pokemon Nobunaga's ambition.... which is a much better titled but i understand why it was changed.
so.... this game... from what i understand it's kind of a spin off/cross over between Pokemon and Nobunaga's ambition. It is like no other pokemon game i have ever played.
no pokeballs
no eye contact pokemon battles.
hell players can only use one pokemon at a time and there is no switching.
however there is still the 'six to a battle' limit... so i guess thast the same.
The good:
It plays kind of like a mix of Final fantasy tactics advanced and Disgaea... it's a grid based turn based strategy rpg where the pokemon have very specific attack ranges and if an ally is in the line of damage they will get hurt as well. so if you like GBTBSTRPGs.... wow thats too long... ok.... anyways if you like those types of games then you'll probably enjoy this one... also I personally really love the art style in it...
It's also nice to see the pokemon games branch out... next they should try action based pokemon stadium style where you can physically dodge or guard and have certain attacks mapped to the four face buttons A la Ys: Seven... thats right i refference a Falcom game... deal with it. and i know the pokemon games have been trying new things with rumble blast and mystery dungeon and Ranger but i haven't played any of those so i have no opinion on them. But yeah i'm happy that we aren't constantly just getting the same game with more little creatures... it is fun but it can get boring eventually.
The fact that this was brought to north america is amazing... the game is EXTREMELY Japanese and the translation didn't try to mask that at all... all the characters have japanese names and they haven't been changed to "jim" or "steve" however someone obviously felt that kids would be able to handle this (or they figured out that a chunck there fans have been around probably since the 90s and figure they watch other anime and can handle most of the Japanese references.)so yeah that made me happy.
finaly so far the battle system is pretty good... it's annoying when you can't move a pokemon into a position to attack but thats true of every GBTBSTRPG.
however i do take some serious issues with this game
The not so good:
time management system.... kinda.... see each warrior is only able to do 1 thing a month... at the beginning this sucks cause you want to conquer lands and train your team and acquire more party members asap but you have to move to the next month to do it... granted month is just a fancy term for 'turn' and once you get a substantial army... this doesn't sting as much but it's still annoying.
Party system needed to be streamlined... I like how you have certain people in certain castles but when your trying to get a party of 6 so you can march and conquer more land... you have to individually look for them... call them over to your land or a land that connects to one your attacking and then pick the ones your sending out... why couldn't this just be a list of "who do you want to fight, you check off you list and then go into battle... there's no penalty for moving you characters all over the place so i fail to see why that one thing is needlessly time consuming
this is petty but... this is a DS game that states "playble on 3ds with 2d gameplay" yeah.... like every other ds game....
now i looked to see if there were more featured on the 3ds version like there are in pokemon black and white but so far i haven't seen any... so who knows.... but for now i just think it;s a silly thing to mention.
still i'm not terribly far in right now so i hope the it gets even better... i say give the game a try at least especially if you like this type of game.
