Figure photoshoot: Natsume yuujinchou

So, this year i wasn't able to go to Anime north due to family situation and then coming down with the flu shortly before the con... my friend was able to go and she found this little gem.
and until i have one of my own she will have my eternal jealousy.
but honestly i'm really happy that she managed to get it cause getting ANY Natsume Merch that isn't Nyanko-sensei is really difficult...

also she let me take pictures of it so... yay~

i mean... um... this firgure was originally part of a prize set and is a little smaller then your average 1/7th scale figures.
i don't know the company it's from but my gut is telling me Banpresto.

so yeah... a really nice figure, absolutely nothing can be posed but in the end who cares... it just means fewer seams.

and one day... i will have a natsume figure of my own... until that day i will send juealous aura's every time i see it at my friends place.

But Rai! You said you pretty much loathed Sword Art online in your review.
why did you buy merch of it?

I really enjoyed the first half.... which is when preorders for this, and nendo kirito who should arrive in a few weeks, came up. 

where the show lost me was the Elfenhiem arc.
i'm not going to go into it now i wrote a long review on it.... but the TL;dr is I hated the second season so much that i actually can't enjoy the first half. i wish i could erase my memory of the second season but i can't...

still that being said the first season had some great themes and interesting character designs.
so i don't mind owning the two nendo's i preordered while i liked the show.... but i don't see myself ever supporting this show again. 

but how is the figure?

daw she's so cute~ i love her outfit (granted it may have to do with the fact my favorite colour is Red.)

my only gripe with the figure is that the post that connect her to the base only had the one curved bitistead of the normal 2... and that means theres only really on angle you can have her at to have her standing.... which means less movement in the poses... that and her top half comes off a little easier then i would line.. but it allows for great waist articulation so thats good at least.

she comes with a lot of accesories, this one is probably my favorite BUT it was also the trickest to photograph... if i had a bigger base it would work but it's just a little too close to her to get the point across

she also comes with two other faces and quite a few arms so thats always fun... i really do like this figure i just felt like i didn't end up getting that one picture that makes me happy...
but i did take a lot of shots.

that last shot it probably my favorite.
but yeah i'll probably take soem shots of her and kirito together... aside from that i really don't want to talk about this show ever again.

Figure Photoshoot: Orihara Izaya

i was surprised with how much i liked Durarara!

it's a great show it's just the type of show i tend to get into.

but still when i saw this figure was on back order... i decided why not?

this was probably the most fun character in the series though i do wish we got a little more explanation for why i like making humans suffer so much... maybe i'll get it if i read the manga?

anyways scale figures are easier to take pics of then poseable ones (in my opinion) and he has two variations... Knife and Cellphone... i plan to keep him with Cellphone and he's kind of coming out from behind my Cintiq, makes me smile~

i just love the movement in his coat... but yeah he looks like he's gunan cut something open... oh no~
but yeah speakign of the coat.

but yeah i so like Cellphone version just a bit more.

other then that not much to say about the figure... i'm just happy to be able to add another male figure to my collection... and i got pit and dark pit so in one day... lots of male characters~

It's no secret that i like figures... the very instant you walk into my room you are greeted  by hundreds of plastic eyes...
still this month was the most figures i had bought at once....
thanks Ami ami... just take all my money.
today 4 figures arrived...
Godoka Nendo
Pit and Dark pit Figmas
and a scale Orihara Izaya.

so last time i got a package from ami ami (godoka figma and nendo Asuna) i didn't take any pictures cause i didn't have my normal place to set up... so this batch is kinda improvised and occasionally there is glare from one of the lights i'm using... sorry i really just wanted to have fun with this and wasn't really payign as much attention as i needed to..

at first i couldn't find the spear base cover thingy... and it was between the backdrop that comes with the figure and the box it's in.... still lov being able to ocver up the plain base you get with nendos (the basses are fine i just think this is fun)

so here are some of the poses you can put her in, even though it's probably the planest i plan to keep it in the first one... just less things to mess with... as much as i love the wings wow they were a pain in the ass... they stick into her hair and a tricky to get to  angle and fall out if you look at them wrong... maybe i just didn't get it in properly but i worries that i was going to break them.

this is probably my favortie pose but since the wings come out of the hair it's a little awkward

my two fav shots of her are both super close ups. still i just think it's such a cute figure.

but to be completely honest.... i didn't get her because i enjoyed Puella Magi Madoka Magica...

cause i like and have always liked the idea that Kyon is really god in haruhi suzumiya... not her... so.... here's godokyon... kyod... hm...
well anyways i just thught it would be worth a laugh... if only to me.

so yeah... i plan to do more nendo swapping tomorrow since pretty much all nendos can interchange with each other as shown above.

for now though i have two more of these to make... next will be the scale figure~

Figure photoshoot -Rinne Nendroid-

I love figures, while i don't have that much i really enjoy taking picture of them.
My latest figure to Arrive is from Sora no kiseki Second chapter.
I have only played first chapter so far (cause of the lack of translation for second chapter) but i adore Rinne's character design.... plus it's a falcom figure... i figure if these are sucessful maybe one day i'll have an Adol figure.... or a Geis figure.... or hell even Dogi would be great!

awww look at all those cute accesories~ right now she's holding her scythe but i'll probably have her sitting down holding her bunny as the pose i keep her in.

The figure just out of the box with no changes, the back when it pretty easy (which is nice cause Nendo's can be fussy....
sorry about the crap lighting.... i had to change my setup and it's winter so the natural light i get is overly cool and i hate using flash but it was that or dark pictures...

her and my Estelle Nendo i gota few months back side by side... estelle is probably the most intricute figure i'e ever had... she has liek 4 shoulders and 3 different ams and 8 different hands... i want her to hold her harmonica but i have yet to fogure out which is the right hand... still love these figures

Just some super close ups... what i wouldgive for a macro lense... and a better set up and a proper lighting system.
but still i'm happy with the shallow depth of field

by the soudns of it Feena will get the next nendo treatment (i havethe estelle/rinne/feena nendo petits but i didn't feels liek taking pictures of them together... mayeb later.

So yeah Rinne and Estelle are from the Legend of heroes: Trails in the sky game and if you see the game for sale you should get it... it's pretty fun.
